When I met the professional fisherman, I paid close attention to everything because I knew it was a unique opportunity to learn a lot about fishing. I studied her technique, presentation, choice of lures, fishing gear, and even the rhythm of the bouncing bait at the bottom of the river. I noticed that the rhythm varied based on the currents.
When I was fishing, my whole attention was at the end of the line. I was really willing the line to catch something for me. I didn’t even notice anything else in my surroundings at the time. I barely noticed the gushing wind, the wetness, and the rain. It was actually really cold to the point that my fingers and toes were getting numb.
